Dr. Gale Rocky is dedicated to providing her patients with the highest quality of preventative and restorative dental care and to enhancing the natural beauty of their smile using state of the art procedures and materials. By attracting and retaining outstanding staff she has dedicated her office to helping make people feel welcome and relaxed. By providing a warm and friendly environment where professional competence and compassion are equally valued she hopes to make your dental experience a warm and pleasant one. Dr Rocky started her career as a dental hygienist graduating from The University of British Columbia in 1974 and practicing for 3 years for a well known local dentist who encouraged personal and professional growth and development. She decided to return to UBC and graduated with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1982. She has since been practicing in Steveston, first with her husband, and for the last twenty years as the solo practitioner in the office.
Dr Rocky has lived in Richmond since 1975 and has raised her two children here. Over the years, along with her husband she has been involved with managing, coaching and sponsoring numerous teams in girls and boys soccer, Richmond Baseball and Richmond Girls Softball. She has been a part time clinical instructor at UBC Dental School, and involved in her professional organization, The College of Dental Surgeons, as chair of the Auxiliary Education Committee, Accreditation and Board Examiner for dental hygiene programs, and member of the Economics Committee. Dr. Rocky recently received recognition for five years of outstanding volunteer service with the Heart & Stroke Foundation of BC, and presently sits on the Richmond Family and Youth Court Committee where she participates in helping address issues of crime and violence facing young people, families and her community.
Dr Rocky grew up in East Vancouver and fondly remembers as a child driving to the Steveston fishing docks to pick up her father, a commercial fisherman and “skipper” of the St. Nicklaus. The smell of the air and the lure of the River have recently enticed her to move into the heart of Steveston, where she can watch the coming and going of the traffic on the river from her living room and deck.
Dr Rocky appreciates the expression of confidence from her current patients in their referral of friends and family and, along with her staff, looks forward to providing the highest quality of dental care to all who are welcomed into her practice.
